How do you price an excavation or demolition job?
Price follows the work: how much dirt moves, how far it goes, and what the ground is. Access for the machines and the haul-off add to it. A teardown also depends on the size of the building and what the city asks for first. Estimates are free, and we put the number in writing after we look at the site.
Is my job too small, or too big?
Both ends work. We pull out a single driveway slab, and we run site prep on a development tract with excavators and trucks going all week. Tell us the acreage or the square footage and we will say what the job takes.
Who pulls the demolition permit in San Antonio?
The City of San Antonio issues demolition permits through its Development Services Department, and the city sets who may file. We sort that out at the estimate and point you to the right office before the teardown is scheduled. Outside the city limits the county or the town handles it, so the answer changes with the address.
Does a building need an asbestos survey before it comes down?
Usually yes. Texas rules call for an asbestos inspection before most structures come down, and a licensed asbestos inspector does that survey. A house and a commercial building follow different rules, so the city or the state says which applies. If material has to come out, a licensed abatement contractor handles that before we bring a machine in.
What happens to the debris and the dirt you dig out?
It depends on the job. Clean fill often stays on site and gets spread where the grade needs it. Demolition debris and extra spoils go on the trucks and out to a site that takes the material. Dump truck hauling comes with the job, or you can hire it on its own.
Do you call for utility locates before digging?
Yes. Texas law requires a call to Texas 811 before anyone digs, and the utilities mark their lines. Texas 811 asks for that notice at least two business days ahead, so the call goes in early. Private lines nobody marks, like a water line out to a barn, are worth pointing out to us.
What areas do you cover?
The yard is in Pleasanton, about 35 miles south of San Antonio. We work roughly 50 miles around the city: Bexar, Atascosa, Comal, Guadalupe, Wilson, Medina, Kendall, Bandera, Frio and Karnes counties. How soon can you get out to look at a job?
Call and we will give you a real date for the site visit. The day moves with the weather and what is already on the calendar. The work itself gets scheduled once you sign off on the estimate. Jobs that need permits or locates take longer to start, since those steps run ahead of the machines.
